This list contains label names grouped by original printer names as used in the LLM.
NiceLabel uses its own printer drivers that use different names than printers in the LLM. The Converter will replace LLM printer name with a matching NiceLabel printer name and save it in the converted label. However, some LLM printers have no matching NiceLabel driver. In that case, look out for the warning messages in the Label Analytics tab. You will have to manually change the printer in the converted label to a model that NiceLabel supports and is compatible with the customer's printer.
Tip
You can click the printer name in the report to see the names of all label templates using it.
Example 1. Importance of using the correct printer driver
In NiceLabel architecture, the printer driver communicates the printer's internal capabilities, such as a list of supported internal fonts, barcodes, counters, RFID support, and more. It is important to have the correct printer driver installed before you open the label in NiceLabel Designer.
The NiceLabel label template remembers the printer name it was created for. If that exact printer driver is not available when you open the label, NiceLabel will prompt you to select a replacement printer driver. When the selected printer is not compatible with the one saved in the label, the label will be reconfigured:
-
Missing fonts will be replaced with Arial TrueType font
-
Counter data sources might be changed from printer-native counters to NiceLabel counters.
-
Barcode objects might print in graphics mode (GDI) no longer as printer-native barcodes.
-
Etc.
