If you received the first message above, the conversion was already done with the updated Conversion service. The issue severity is defined as 'Info'. The character mask was successfully converted. The data validation in the converted labels works in the same way as in the original labels.
-
If you received the second message above, the conversion was done in the past with the older version of the Conversion service. You can follow the workaround steps specified in the Resolution section below, or resubmit your files in the Conversion Service again (this is the recommended method).
RESOLUTION
Note
Only follow these instructions, when you have received the second message and you want to manually update the label templates. The recommendation is to resubmit the GetLpsArtifacts ZIP file again in the updated Conversion Service).
The label object mentioned by {itemName} uses a data source with a character mask that is not supported in NiceLabel. As a result, the character mask for this data source was changed in the converted label to accept all characters. As a result, the character validation is disabled in the converted label. NiceLabel will accept all characters for the value of the variable.
-
Open the converted label for editing in NiceLabel Designer. Edit the properties of the affected variable in NiceLabel Designer. Go to the "Input rules" tab and select "Custom" for "Allowed characters". Then type in the characters that the value of this variable can use. Make sure to enter the same character set as used in the LLM.
-
In Data source explorer, go to Objects tab.
-
Type in the name of your object (provided by
{itemName}
) to locate the object in the label. -
Select the object. The variable that is a data source for this object is automatically selected under Variables section in the Data tab.
-
Double-click the variable name to open its properties.
-
Go to Input rules tab.
-
For Allowed characters, select Custom.
-
Then type in the characters that can occupy the value of this variable. Make sure to enter the same character set as used in the LLM.
