When you have run the GetLPSArtifacts tool or manually created a ZIP file, you can submit it to the Conversion Service.
Do the following:
-
Open the LPS Conversion Service page in your browser.
-
Click Choose File and browse for the ZIP file.
-
Type in the Customer name.
-
Type in the Project name.
-
Type in your Email address.
-
Click Submit.
The processing time depends on the number and complexity of the LWL labels you have submitted. You should expect to receive an email within a few minutes. As a general rule of thumb, the result would be available in under 10 minutes for 500 labels.
Once the labels are converted, you will receive an email with a link to the ZIP file. Click the link and download it. When an error occurs during the conversion process, you will receive an email notification. The messages are usually self-explanatory and you can resolve the problem yourself.
Additional options for the conversion process.
-
Increase compatibility (resave). All submitted LWL files will be re-saved using the latest version of the LLM. This can resolve many conversion problems. Be aware, the conversion will take a lot of time to complete.
-
Only extract scripts (skip analysis and conversion). Label conversion will not execute. You will receive just the scripts from the original labels.
-
External-facing report. The report is suitable to be shared with the customers. It does not contain Loftware-internal details and resources.
-
Override printer mapping. The Conversion Service contains its own internal mapping between LPS printer and Loftware printer. You can override defaults and provide your custom mappings for the LPS to Loftware printer mapping. For example, this option allows you to configure Loftware printer for the LPS "family" printers.
Provide mappings one per line like this example:
Loftware Zebra ZPLII=ZEBRA R-402 Loftware TEC B433=TEC B-431
-
Variable length constraints. Enable to preserve the "Max # Chars" option from the LWL label. "Max # Chars" option limits the number of characters that you can provide for a certain variable. Disable to keep the data length of the variables unlimited in the converted template. Please note, the LPS ignores the field lengths defined in the LWL label template. So you should probably leave this option disabled.
-
Add path to images. Enable to add the custom path to all file names used in the Picture objects. Instead of the file name alone (e.g. image.png) the path is added to the image name as a prefix. Loftware Cloud will search for the images in the provided folder. You can use relative or absolute path (e.g. ..\Graphics or c:\Graphics).
-
Remember last used value. Enable to force the variables in the converted label to remember the last-used print value. The variables will keep the "Remember" option from LPS. Loftware Cloud stores last-used values in the external file with the extension .DVV and saves it in the same folder with the label template. Disable to keep the "Remember last used value" in Loftware Cloud variables' properties unchecked. Loftware Cloud will not remember the last-used value.
-
Use custom font for all missing printer font mappings. When enabled, all unknown (unmapped) LPS printer fonts will be replaced with the font name that you provided. You can enter the name of the Loftware printer font (as defined by Loftware printer driver) or a Truetype/OpenType font. When disabled, the Arial TrueType font will be used as the replacement font.
-
Convert Inverse objects to Text objects (not Text Box). When enabled, the Inverse text objects from LWL label template will convert into a Text object. When disabled, they convert into a Text Box object. With Text object, the inverse effect ends immediately after the provided data. With Text Box, the inverse effect continues until the full width of the Text Box object.
-
Define provisional values for variables. When enabled, the "provisional value" property of the variables will have a sample value. This can help you during the label design as the label object will show this value instead of being empty (or show question marks). Values for "provisional value" field are extracted from the PAS/XML files that you must provide in the incoming zip.
