Upload files larger than 100MB to Documents storage from File Explorer

Problem

You opened Documents storage in File Explorer using the syntax \\<myserver>@8080\DavWWWRoot. You try to upload a file that is larger than 100MB, and you get the error:

There is a problem accessing \\<myserver>@8080\DavWWWRoot

Make sure you are connected to the network and try again.

Note

If you use large image files (TIFF, BMP), first compress them to JPG or PNG. Smaller files will also speed up your printing process.

Solution

Your computer's WebClient service has a default limit of 100MB. You can change this limit in Registry Editor. Windows allows a maximum value of 4GB.

Note

If you upload your files through the Control Center user interface, there is no file size limit.

  1. Open Registry Editor.

  2. Navigate to the key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters.

  3. Modify the FileSizeLimitInBytes value and set the Value Data to the desired value in bytes. Use the Decimal option.

  4. Click OK.

Now you can upload files larger than 100MB.
