Exporting and importing default NiceLabel driver settings

Problem

When you install NiceLabel driver for your label printer, the driver installs with default settings, like speed, darkness, and media type. If you install just a few NiceLabel drivers just, you can quickly change the driver's defaults.

You might have several driver installations of the same printer manufacturer on different computers or several drivers of the same printer manufacturer on the same computer. You can export your custom driver settings and import them to the other driver installations.

Solution

To export NiceLabel driver settings:

  1. Install NiceLabel driver. For example, CAB A3 203DPI.

  2. Open the printer driver preferences. Go to

Control Panel > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners click on CAB A3 203DPI > Manage > Printer Properties.

  3. Open Driver settings tab.

  4. Set your preferred driver settings

  5. Click the Export button at Export driver settings for all users and save the settings in the Driver Settings file (*.DRX), e.g. CAB.DRX.

To import NiceLabel driver settings to another driver:

  1. Install NiceLabel driver. For example, CAB A6.

  2. Open the printer driver preferences. Go to

Control Panel > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners click on CAB A3 203DPI > Manage > Printer Properties.

  3. Open Driver settings tab.

  4. Click the Import button at Import driver settings for all users and browse to previously saved Driver Settings file (*.DRX), e.g. CAB.DRX.

  5. Double click Driver Settings file (*.DRX) file.

  6. Click OK.

Driver settings are now imported to your new driver. You can also use the Driver Settings file (*.DRX) on other computers.

Note: You can Export/Import driver settings also to other printer brands, but verify the settings after importing. Different printer brands use different values for speed, darkness, etc.
