When you install and connect Desktop Designer to License Center, Automation automatically connects to License Center.

If you don't use Desktop Designer, you can connect Automation to your License Center. The procedure is the same. See Connecting Desktop Designer to License Center.

You can also sign out from NiceLabel user account in Automation. When you do, your Desktop Designer and Automation are disconnected from License Center, and you can no longer control your printers from License Center.

To reconnect, you have to connect your product again and enter the URL address to your License Center. You can re-connect your product either from Desktop Designer or Automation.

Activating Automation

If you activated Desktop Designer, you have already activated your NiceLabel software. If you only run Automation on your computer, you must activate your NiceLabel software when you first run Automation. The process is the same as when you activate from running Desktop Designer for the first time.

When you run your NiceLabel for the first time, you activate it by connecting it to License Center or to Control Center:

  • If you have the Designer Pro or PowerForms Suite product level, click Sign in. This connects your NiceLabel software to your License Center. For more information, see Activating Designer Pro and PowerForms Suite.

  • If you have the LMS Pro or LMS Enterprise product level, we recommend you click Connect. This connects your NiceLabel software to your Control Center. For more information, see Activating LMS Pro or LMS Enterprise.

If you ran NiceLabel module (Automation, Desktop Designer) in trial mode, you did not activate it. This applies to all NiceLabel software.

If you only run Automation on your computer, you don't log in to your License Center each time. After you run Automation for the first time after activation, Automation Service remains activated as long as it is connected to License Center (or Control Center for LMS Pro and LMS Enterprise users).

If Automation loses connection to License Center (or Control Center for LMS Pro and LMS Enterprise users), it runs offline for 14 days. When Automation enters offline mode, you receive a notification message in Automation Manager. After 14 days, you must reconnect your NiceLabel software.

Depending on your product level, see Activating Designer Pro and PowerForms Suite or Activating LMS Pro or LMS Enterprise.
