Cannot open Control Center after Widows Server 2022 update

Problem

Your Windows Server 2022 performed updates, and now you can't open Control Center. You have the HTTPS option enabled in Control Center.

You can see errors in Event Viewer regarding NiceLabel Control Center and NiceLabel Web Printing:

  • Error loading assembly: C:\Program Files\NiceLabel\NiceLabel Control Center\WEB\SDK\NetCommon.dll

  • Error loading assembly: C:\Program Files\NiceLabel\NiceLabelWeb Printing\web\bin\Azure.Storage.Common.dll

Solution

The issue occurs because the Windows update removed the certificate from bindings in the IIS Default Web Site.

Set the certificate back for HTTPS to resolve the issue. See the instructions in our Control Center Installation Guide under Instructions for the Default Web Site.
