Print variable pictures

Problem

You would like to print labels with variable pictures. You created a label template connected to your database. The database also includes file names of pictures.

Solution

First, connect your label template to your database.

Solution 1

Your database contains complete paths to your picture files, for example, c:\My Pictures\Some Folder\picture01.jpg

  1. In NiceLabel Designer Pro/PowerForms click the small arrow on the left side of the Picture icon.

  2. The options window opens. Click the database field with your picture file paths.

  3. Put your variable picture on our label by clicking on the label template.

  4. If needed, edit the picture properties, like Graphic Resizing options or Relative Position. Click the picture, then click the Properties icon.

You can now print your label template with variable pictures.

Solution 2

Your database contains only file names, for example, picture01.jpg or picture01

  1. In NiceLabel Designer Pro/PowerForms create a new Concatenate function.

  2. Your Concatenate function will consist of fixed text with a file path, database value (file name), and file extension if needed.

    1. Click Add fixed text and enter your pictures file path, then click OK.

    2. Click Add data source, then click your picture file names database field.

    3. If your file names have no extension, add the file extension by adding another fixed text, then click OK.

  3. Click OK to finish the Concatenate function.

  4. Click the small arrow on the left side of the Picture icon. The options window opens. Click the Concatenate function.

  5. Put your variable picture on our label by clicking on the label template.

  6. If needed, edit the picture properties, like Graphic Resizing options or Relative Position. Click the picture, then click the Properties icon.

You can now print your label template with variable pictures.
